The History
Studio Cherub is a idea that I started in high school. It was evolved around a series that I have created called Cherub. With influence from friends around me I ended up creating a story around them. I tried to start a interest in developing this story with thier help but without much success(it was high school and they were seniors so as you would expect thier interests were elsewhere) since only one of them was a art major. So I only wrote and drew very quick outlines of the entire series. In the end I decided to do this entire thing by myself but at the same time hoping to find a very trustworthy person and friend to help out with this.
All of this started from reading my first american comic book (and now a popular movie) X-Men.
Later on it turned over to japanese manga books and soon I decided to start my own story and
series. It all began simply like every other kid who is in awe of these superhero stories,
so everything I did was based closely to the stories the staff of X series, and the Image
books. At the time I refered to this little universe as the Jackel universe (like Marvel
universe, Image universe, etc.). This developed slowly and retardedly as so many characters and no real story (so much like Rob Lefield's stuff during his Image years. I somehow got sucked into buying some of his comics ??????? real bummer). I later read japanese manga starting with Ramna. Mostly during this time just copied and studied my anatomy. Had great influence from Matsume Shirow (Ghost in the Shell, Dominion Tank Police), and Kosuke Fujishima (Ah My Goddess, Your Under Arrest).
All in all nothing that I did was really original and was mostly imitated from other artists.
This was all just a step to learn the various styles that they all used as to try and find my calling. In my sophmore year in high school, insperation (somewhat) hit me. To create a special story that uses real personalities. Thus Cherub was created. The latter of creations that I had before pushed aside for a much more
original material. So far the synopsis had been developed for the initial Cherub series as well
as some spin offs. Since then this has become Studio Cherub named after this original story that
I have created. So far the I am developing the entire plot as to make it interesting and
understandable but stupid school (and it's stupid dec classes. Who needs to know a decade worth of european history for studio art?!?!?!?!?!?!) is kinda getting in the way.
I have finally finished my career in studio art at SUNY Stony Brook(which is a bad school to go to for art for anyone out there thinking of this school for art purposes). Working full time and still trying to work on my artwork as well as going to the figure out what this diploma can do for me.
